Some say revenge is a dish best served cold; I say revenge is a dish best served by Melinda Crick and her crew of sweet ghoulish babes! For the December edition of our gore girl section, Melinda took on the biggest production we have seen thus far. She defiantly finished out 2007 with a bang with one of the coolest shoots I have ever seen!

Melinda is no stranger to the arts; she has been doing hair and makeup for about eleven years. She started out simply shampooing hair and has worked her way up to opening her own salon! She is the proud owner of Switchblade Salon which opened in August of 2005. At the age of twenty seven she was the sole owner of her own business which I found very impressive! Through out the years she has done hair and makeup for a few independent films, numerous fashion shows, local magazines, and even appeared on News Channel 3 "Monday Morning Makeover".

Melinda is an amazingly creative individual. She enjoys doing special effects make up and has an incredible knack for it. She states, “I enjoy the craft of it, more than the fact that I'm just really into blood and gore!” Some of her most recent projects include: Vampire makeup for the cover of The New Times for author Stephanie Meyer. She also did hair and makeup for some friends at this year’s Zombie Prom in October, which I might add won them the King and Queen Prom awards! And if you go back to September’s Gore Girl shoot she did the hair and makeup for "Magnum", and posed as the dead body in the background. Currently she doing hair and makeup on the models for life drawing workshop, called Dr.Sketchy's, (www.myspace.com/antiartschool) at "The Lost Leaf" in Phoenix.

So to say she is busy is an understatement. Melinda adds, “I do want to mention that I had a great group of people that made this shoot possible. We had an awesome photographer, Chaz Carlson, (www.myspace.com/thechaz) who is great to work with. There was an excellent crew of models including Mandy, who is also my sister. Lalo Cota, (www.myspace.com/lalocota136) who is am amazing local artist, did all of the airbrushing for the zombie segment of the shoot. He operated the fog machine and at the end of the shoot prepared all of the guts by throwing them in a bowl of fake blood, and bringing them out to our models. We also had local artist, Matt Dickson (mattdickson.net) who provided craft services for the photo shoot.”

Side note: the liver was purchased at Ranch Market, and the heart (Corazon) and the guts were purchased at Food City. Yes, those girls have real guts in their mouths!

The girls in order of appearance are Melinda Crick, Mandy Williams, Chelsae Bohner, and Erica Ensey Photography: Chaz Carlson, www.brokenimagephoto.com Hair & makeup: Melinda Crick Zombie airbrush makeup: Lalo Cota Fog machine operator: Lalo Cota Craft services: Matt Dickson

Anybody for a swim?ICSYB - What film would you say is one of the scariest you have ever seen and how did it affect you?

Melinda - The Children of the Corn; I don't trust children around farm equipment any more.

ICSYB –Haha! Have you seen any new horror or sci-fi films lately that you really dug?

Melinda - I like Horror Planet. I think the way the pieces of the puzzle were assembled added to the story beyond the story. How the connectedness is something personal; that moves someone. Plus the mutants!

Say hello to my little friend!ICSYB - If you were to have a part in a spooky movie, would you want to play the role of the villain or as the victim?

Melinda - Villain. It's evil or nothing.

ICSYB – Godzilla or King Kong – which one do you think is the real bad ass?

Melinda - Always bet on the big monkey. It's something in the eyes. Look for it. You'll see.

ICSYB – I've been told that! What was one of your scariest bad dreams?

That will leave a mark!

And that will leave a stain!Melinda - There are no scary bad dreams.

ICSYB - If you could pick any celebrity you would like to see get slaughtered beyond recognition in a movie who would you chose and why?

Melinda - Hannah Montana, the devil spawn of Billy Ray Cyrus

Payback, hahaha!ICSYB – I knew she sucked ass for a reason! Say you became a creature of the night and could pick anyone you'd want to eat alive, who would you choose?

Melinda - I don't think that is a fair question. But I like the way you think.

This is how I hope I go out someday!ICSYB – I try…If your house was haunted like in Poltergeist, would you stay and try to cleanse it or just get the fuck out?

Melinda – I’d get the fuck out, before the bodies start coming out the pool.....

ICSYB - Han Solo or Luke Skywalker - which of the two would you rather make out with? Unless you have a thing for Chewbacca, you never know :)

Melinda - Princess Leia

ICSYB – FUCK YEA! Best answer EVER! Have you ever said Candyman in a mirror five times?

Melinda, it's whats for dinner!

Melinda - I walked out of that movie and ate Red Vines in the Oldsmobile in the parking lot until the others came out. That car was a white convertible with red leather interior. Did that answer your question? Think about it.

ICSYB – At least you dig licorice! Speaking of candy, have you ever tried to see how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?

Melinda - It's three. Threeeee. Mr. Owl says, threeeeeeeeeeeeee

This is the best picture ever!

ICSYB – I like your style!
