Welcome to another annual edition of I Can Smell Your Brains Monthly Gore Girl. For the month of June we enlisted one of the most furious little ladies the world has ever met: Night Mar! On of Phoenix’s craziest skaters for The Renegade Roller Girls, this little firecracker can hang with the best of them. The Renegade Roller Derby’s way of playing is definitely a cut above the rest. They play no rules and brutal; there are no penalty points for taking someone’s feet out or throwing the few occasional elbows to other girls faces! So you can bet their bouts get pretty insane. In a match I caught between Phoenix and Oregon I caught two months ago, a girl from each team ended up with a broken nose! She also skated with the LA Derby Dolls for a before coming back to Arizona to wreck havoc. Night Mar is a force to be reckoned with on and off the track; she is just one of those girls. She is a stand up lady with a strong personality that has no qualms with putting you in your place if she feels the need!
Mary also happens to be my best friend and roommate. I figured she would be an appropriate choice for a Gore Girl not only because she can kick some major ass, but she is surrounded in a house filled with more monster nonsense than any normal person should have to endure. There are far more evenings where I decided to watch Beyond Re-Animator or Dead Alive for the millionth time and she got stuck watching than she should have. Not to mention she showers in a bathroom with an autographed Chop Top poster, eats dinner in a kitchen surrounded by horror bobble heads and Fulci Zombie stuff, works in our home office while starring at Rabid Grannies and piles of Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazines, and everywhere she looks there is some action figure opened and displayed starring at her. She is a big fan of Frankenstein with both sides of her rib cage covered with The Bride and Frankenstein tattoos. So, since she is my pal and we are roommates, I decided to see what she really thinks of some of the toys or movies around her and make this one a bit more personal!
